Hey loveliess, I hope you’re all warm and well!
With the gorgeous sunny weather we’ve been having in the UK lately, it’s really inspired me to create some summery looks. When looking for palettes to use, I couldn’t help buying the Tropical Paradise palette. Something about the colour scheme screamed out to me. The shade range gives me all kinds of sunshine vibes. Now that I have used this palette a good few times, I thought I’d pop all my thoughts in a post for ya. If you want my honest review and some swatches of the Tropical Paradise palette, you’re in the right place.
It’s only right we take a second to appricaite how gorgeous the packaging is. Tammi done such a good job. The outside box is a sunset beach scene which really reflects the shades on the inside. It’s clear to see where she got her inspiration from. In terms of the actual palette, it’s a standard Revolution size. The palette has 23 eyeshadows which is insane. I would have maybe liked a few less shades and slightly bigger pans but that’s me just being fussy. The pan size is alright, I just wish there was a bit more product of certain shades. The outside of the palette is a reflective rose gold moment. It stands out from all the other Revolution palettes I own, and I like that.
As you can see from the swatches above, this palette has pigment! The top row of colours are more everyday neutral shades. The bottom has a few bold colours to add a pop of colour and spice up a look. Some of the shades from the bottom were a little patchy and need building up. The rest are bomb though! There’s a few colours that really stand out to me. “Golden sands” is that stunning yellow shimmer and “Tropical” is the matte orange. Obsessed with them together!
There’s endless looks to be created with this palette. Tammi said in her video that this palette was created with women of colour in mind. I totally see that. The colours will suit all different skin tones which is so amazing! It’s also worth mentioning that there are 3 transition shades in this palette too. I didn’t swatch them because, a transition is a transition right? but they’re also great.
The formulation of she shimmers is almost perfect. They’re soft, pigmented, easy to blend and aren’t too chunky. The mattes are pretty good. I found that with the darker matte shades, they’re a tiny bit dry and not that intense with colour. I mentioned this before but when you go in with a bit more product, they work fine.
Super happy this palette is in my collection. It’s allowed me to venture into different colours and be creative. I’m inspired to do looks with this palette and that’s what I love. The price point is excellent, only a tenner! Can you believe you get all them shades for a tenner. Like most Revolution products, there’s no compromise on quality. Cruelty free and vegan friendly is always a bonus too. 100% recommend this palette to anyone who wants to experiment with colour or just wants to have pretty eyes.
