Preparing for a newborn

September 3, 2019

Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well.
Preparing for a newborn can be quite daunting. There’s so much to think about. With so many baby products on the market, it can be tricky to figure out what you actually need, rather than all the adorable bits you just kinda want. As first time parents, we didn’t really have a clue where to start. I spent hours and hours researching baby essentials, reading other mummies check lists, watching videos and creating my own little wish lists. I thought I’d create a post on how we’re preparing for our newborn before he arrives. Not gonna lie, it’s been one of my favourite things about being pregnant.

Figuring out the essentials

Everyone will give you tips and advice (regardless of if you asked for it or not) on what items you actually need for baby. When you completely strip back the absolute essentials, there isn’t that much to it. We knew we wanted a travel system and spent ages researching which one suited our needs best. Similarly with sleeping arrangements, I knew I wanted a bedside crib for upstairs, and a traditional Moses basket for downstairs. In terms of feeding, combination feeding is the plan. With me breast feeding and expressing for bottles. Clothing wise you don’t need all those cute tiny outfits (although some are just too hard to resist). Basic vests and sleepsuits are just fine. Family and friends will no doubt inundate you with clothes so keep your buys minimal to avoid having waaayyy to much.

Imogenation || The eyeshadow palette

August 27, 2018

Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well.
After a few weeks away from blogging, I’m back and ready to go! Thought I’d get straight back into it with a review of the Imogenation eye shadow palette. For those who don’t know, Imogen is a rapidly growing beauty and lifestlye youtuber. She burst onto the scene in January 2017. Since then, she’s captured our hearts and shared so much with us. If you want to catch up on her videos, you can find them here. So this palette was created in collaboration with Revolution, who are taking the drugstore by storm and changing the game for affordable makeup. I was so excited about this launch, couldn’t wait to have a play around. So let’s dive into it.

August 7, 2018

Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well!
Let me start this post by saying, I am NOT expecting a baby, nor are we trying (or even thinking about it). Me and Shane quite often talk about baby names we like though. There’s so many gorgeous names out there, I honestly don’t know how people decide. I love reading these kinds of posts and getting idea’s for my future child. So, here’s some baby names I love, but wouldn’t use.

LIFE UPDATE: We got married !

May 15, 2018

Hey lovelies, I hope you’re warm and well!
If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that Shane and I recently got married. We flew out to with a few friends and family to Dominican Republic on April 29th and stayed for two weeks at Memories Splash resort, Punta Cana. It was an eventful few weeks to say the very least but our day was perfect and we’re so happy it all went to plan. If you’re interested to know more about Our wedding day carry on reading!

Our wedding day

Getting ready.

My day started off well, we woke up, had breakfast together and then went our separate ways for the day. The boys went down to the beach in the morning, snorkelled around the crystal blue ocean and done some other boy stuff I’m assuming. Meanwhile my mum was working her magic on my hair to make it look perfect. I went for a half up half down curly style with a few little plaits and a princess tiara! I done all my makeup myself, had a fight with a false eyelash, worried about it melting off and couldn’t get my brows matching. Suppose it turned out okay in the end. All the girls got ready in my room and before I knew it, it was almost time to go. With my hair and makeup done it was time to put my dress on.

Hen party ideas

March 31, 2018

Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well!
A few weeks ago now, I had my hen party. It was such an amazing night filled with love and laughter. A good old celebration with some of my favourite people, ever! I wanted it to be quite simple, nothing fancy. Just somewhere local and affordable, and that’s what we did. My girls had some amazing idea’s, they spent hours making things, decorating and creating the perfect evening for me. I can’t thank them enough for their tremendous efforts. That’s the inspiration behind this post, I thought I’d share some hen party ideas with you to give you a great send off before the big day.
