Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well.
Since being pregnant, I’ve been pretty quiet on the blog. For a multitude of reasons really but I found a product that I think you’ll really love (hopefully as much as I do). The product in question is Mama bee cream from Burts bees. Primarily, it’s advertised as a belly butter, but I have been slathering this on all over and I can’t get enough. Here’s why.
Overview
To start with, it’s fragrance free. This was quite a big deal for me in the early stages of pregnancy when my nose was extremely sensitive to smell. I thought the cocoa or Shea butter scents might sneak through, but they didn’t. Secondly, it’s a 99% natural and contains no parabens or nasty chemicals, yay! My skin is quite dry and sensitive so it was nice to know the Mama bee cream wouldn’t cause my skin to flare up or become irritate. The cream itself is a thick, cool consistency, which feels really nice on application and doesn’t leave oily greasy residue. Nobody needs that.
I’ve been using the Mama bee cream since around week 12. As I write this, I’m almost 30 weeks and I still have a fair amount left. You get decent amount (6.5oz/185g) and it’s fairly inexpensive. As I mentioned previously, I put this everywhere. Mainly of course on my belly and breasts, but it feels great over freshly shaved legs. Bonus! So for the tenner you’re spending, you’re getting a pretty good deal. Pretty sure I got mine from boots but it’s quite easy to get hold of.
Final thoughts
The idea behind the cream is to keep your skin soft and moisturised throughout pregnancy to aid the skin as it stretches. I certainly feel it’s done just that for me. Not sure if it’s the Mama bee cream or if I’m just lucky but I’m yet to get a single stretch mark *touches wood*. If you’re in the market for a pregnancy belly butter, I’d really recommend the Mama bee cream. I enjoy it so much that I’ll probably purchase another tub when little mans arrives.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this little review. Hopefully I’ll be back soon with some new mummy related content.
Have a catch up on my previous posts.
