Makeup Revolution X Soph palette || Swatches and Review

September 20, 2017

Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well!
If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’m such a huge makeup revolution fan so it probably comes as no surprise that I had to get my hands on this palette as soon as it launched! The palette is in collaboration with one of my favourite Youtubers “Sophdoesnails” Sophie has her own channel but also creates content for the makeup revolution channel. I’ve been watching her for ages and I’m so proud of her for creating this palette! This post will cover the Soph palette swatches and review
So let’s get stuck in.

Soph palette

The 24 pan palette comes with a great mix of 10 beautiful shimmers and 14 matte shades. Just from looking at this palette, there’s so many different looks that can be created. From subtle day time chic to full on night time glamour puss! I love the versatility in the palette and I think there are shades to suit every skin tone which I know was a key factor for Soph while creating this palette.

The packaging was designed by Soph’s artistic flare and some watercolours. It’s such a pretty girly looking palette, shes’s aced the packaging. The palette itself comes in a nude colour which will obviously get dirty (Mines already filthy from swatches) Although, amucky palette means it’s well loved right? I love the rose gold detailing on the box, I think it really reflects Sophie’s personality! Enough about the packaging, let’s dive into the Soph palette swatches and review.

Swatches:

First row, from top to bottom:
Penguin, Pancakes, Fairy lights, Pink champagne, Iced coffee, Cuppa tea.
The top row of shades are really pretty soft colours for everyday looks, transition colours and inner corner highlights. The swatches aren’t brilliant because a lot of them are similar to my skin colour but I know I’ll get use out of these shades.

Row 2, from top to bottom:
Grow old, Sparks fly, Smokey bronze, Mixed berries, Tiramisu, peaches
This is probably my favourite row of colours. Golds bronzes and warm shimmers are really my thing. I’m obsessed already! These shades are perfect for autumn and Christmas months!

Row 3, from top to bottom
Cloudberry, pumpkin, pine tree, petrol, pug, danger
Love the mix of shades in this row. I think pine tree is such a unique shade, I haven’t got anything like it and I’m exciting to experiment with it more!

Soph palette swatches
Final row, from top to bottom
Strawberry sweets, Festive flame, Copper coin, mug cake, rosewood, nightmare
Copper coin is my favourite shade in the whole palette! It stood out to me from the start and I’ve fallen in love. I believe this row has every shade you need to create a gorgeous warm bronze smokey eye.

Review:

Now you’ve seen all the swatches it’s time to round up my final thoughts. I’m really impressed at the quality of these shadows, especially for the price and I love all the personal touches Soph has added. There was a little bit of fall out from the shadows, more so the matte shades but nothing major. The shadows feel soft and creamy and blend together really nicely. I know this palette is gonna get lots of love from me over the coming months and I’m excited to have a proper play around with it. It’s also important to mention that this palette is vegan friendly and cruelty free, yay!

Overall, I’m super happy with this purchase. If you’re interested in getting your own they are available in superdrug stores, and online at Tam beauty for the bargain price of £10! Soph also has a highlight palette so if you want a review and swatches on that, just let me know.
