Imogenation || The eyeshadow palette

August 27, 2018

Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well.
After a few weeks away from blogging, I’m back and ready to go! Thought I’d get straight back into it with a review of the Imogenation eye shadow palette. For those who don’t know, Imogen is a rapidly growing beauty and lifestlye youtuber. She burst onto the scene in January 2017. Since then, she’s captured our hearts and shared so much with us. If you want to catch up on her videos, you can find them here. So this palette was created in collaboration with Revolution, who are taking the drugstore by storm and changing the game for affordable makeup. I was so excited about this launch, couldn’t wait to have a play around. So let’s dive into it.

Imogenation eye shadow palette

Imogenation eye shadow palette – Packaging.

Let’s not lie, this is one of the prettiest palette packaging that revolution have done. The lilac iridescent, mirrored effect is everythinggg. The palette is the standard size. Not to weighty, so perfect for travel. Absolutely love the design of this palette, but is it any good?

Imogenation eye shadow palette – Swatches

Couldn’t wait to get swatching and testing this palette. The shade colours are right up my street, so lets dive in shall we? The centre four shades are all transition shades, a good selection for all skin tones. I didn’t swatch them in pictures because lets be honest, transition shades aren’t that interesting really.

Imogenation eye shadow paletteFirst row- Angel, Butterfly, Forever friend, Huns.

I wanted a little more from this row if I’m honest. Although the colours are pretty, I needed a little more pigment. They swatched a little too sheer for my liking but they still look nice on the eyes for a subtle shimmer.

Second row – Honeybee, Shoppy, Babygirl, Raise N Praise

My favourite row of colour. These shades are the ones I was most excited about, and also the ones that perform the best. Super pigmented and a dream to blend!

Imogenation eye shadow palette

Third row- Mills, Imagine, Pinky promise, Berry blast.

Look how pigmented that orange is! Compliments my blue eyes so much. Another row of stunning colours. Berry blast is a perfect shade for autumn.

Fourth row – You know, Get to know, Trying it, Limo

Really impressed with how bright that red shade is. The black is also really really dark which I like. This row surprised me the most, didn’t think I’d be that keen, but I was wrong.

Imogenation eye shadow palette- Final thoughts?

The Imogenation eye shadow palette is a great addition to my collection. Although I own quite a few similar shades, it’s nice to have them all in one palette. The shade range gives me all the autumn and winter vibes which is ideal now the unbearable heatwave is over. To me, I can see a lot of Imogens personality in this palette which I love. I know she created this palette as something she would reach for all the time. The shade names are super cute and meaningful to Imogen which is a lovely touch.

The blendability of the palette is perfect. Nice and soft formula that blends effortlessly and look pretty. So many looks can be made with this palette and I think there’s something in here for everyone.

Imogenation eye shadow palette- More infomation

The palette retails for £10 which is really reasonable for a 20 shade palette of this quality. It’s available on revolution beauty online. You can also get the palette in stores and online in superdrug. All products from revolution beauty are vegan friendly and cruelty free, yay for brand ethics!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this review and swatches.

Ooh I love the second row the best too – I must say that I quite like the first row too even though they’re not that pigmented, I think they’d be perfect for the inner corner of your eye! I’ve not heard of Imogen so I’ll definitely have to check her out! ❤️❤️

I absolutely love Revolution products! Although I don’t think I will be buying this palette, i feel like all the shades are too similar to other palettes I have. Although it is such a beautiful palette.

I’ve never heard of Imogen to be honest but I don’t follow a lot of beauty you tubers. But I love the packaging and the name of the palette! The first row is stunning but it’s a shame it wasn’t a little more pigmented xxx

I agree, I love that packaging! I definitely think the second row is my favorite, too. I do like how you could use the first row for more subtle looks, though!

This is a really cute collection of colours, definitely giving me some autumn vibes! I’ve never watched Imogen’s videos but this is a really nice looking palette, most of the colours seem to be really pigmented and pretty, and the price is incredible!

The colours are beautiful in the swatches but is it me or is the shade range really quite small!? It doesn’t look like there’s a huge difference between the rows in my opinion! I do love the first swatches though, I love a bit of shimmer and iridescence and the packaging is gorgeous!

The shade range does seem so random, the first row has the most gorgeous shades and I’d buy the palette just for them to be honest, but the other three rows seem really similar! Makeup Revolution palettes are so amazing for the price though, such incredible pigment and I love how ideal they are for travelling x
